Whislter Wines Atypical Shiraz 2023

This wine presents a vibrant purple hue, reflecting its youthful energy and intensity. On the nose, it bursts with aromas of blueberry and black olive, offering an enticing and savoury bouquet.

The palate is fresh and expressive, with the inclusion of whole bunch fermentation lending a subtle dried herb character and added vibrancy. Thanks to the slightly cooler and extended growing season of 2023, the wine is particularly generous in both red and dark fruit flavours, delivering a well-rounded and flavourful profile.

Vinification involved a small proportion of whole bunches and fermentation in both small and medium-sized open fermenters, using wild yeast. Gentle extraction was achieved through a combination of hand plunging and pump-overs. After 13 days on skins, the wine was pressed and matured in medium and large French oak barrels for 10 months. It was then blended and bottled without fining, preserving its natural character and making it suitable for vegan drinkers.
