Dreissigacker Wunderwerk Riesling 2019

The grapes for Wunderwerk Riesling come from the biodynamically farmed top vineyards in Bechtheim and Westhofen – Geyersberg, Kirchspiel, and Morstein. Bechtheim is known for its warm, sun-drenched sites, which produce very powerful and complex wines. In contrast, the wines from the exposed vineyards around Westhofen have a cooler, particularly fresh style. The Dreissigacker Wunderwerk Riesling combines both. Dreissigacker's commitment to bottling all wines as gently and as slowly as possible is also reflected in Wunderwerk Riesling. The grapes were transported exclusively by gravity, and pumps were avoided in any of the winemaking steps.

After the selective hand-picking, the grapes were gently pressed with feet, rested on the skins for half a day, and then gently pressed over several hours. To highlight the pure aromas inherent in the soils and vines of Rheinhessen's top vineyards, the must was then allowed to settle without any fining or adulteration.
