Guy and Thierry Amiot continue to please the consumer and the press alike. They produce classic Chassagne Montrachet that expresses their varied "terroir", enhanced by approx. 25% new oak. These are very pure wines with a subtle balance of fruit, acid and minerality typical of the appellation. Amiot has avoided the trend, seen elsewhere, of trying to make New World wines by harvesting ultra ripe fruit. Rather than being full of tropical fruit with a lesser structure, these are brilliant, finely chiseled wines of true Burgundian character. The domaine offers a superb collection of Premier Cru sites that reflect the different terroirs found throughout the appellation.
