The Lessona commune exists in an area with a complex terroir shaped by a volcanic eruption that occurred around 300 million years ago. These unique soils are well suited to growing Nebbiolo with distinct lightness and minerality. These qualities come through in Colombera & Garella’s Lessona along with the rich dark cherry, liquorice and roses you expect from Nebbiolo, but a splash of Vespolina softens its characteristically firm tannins. Equally fine and fresh on the palate, with red plum, smoked meat, and fragrant floral notes.
