Haguenau is a lieu-dit in the village of Bergheim (on the boundary with Ribeauvillé) that is proposed as a future Premier Cru site. The vineyard follows the contour line from the east-facing portion of the Grand Cru Osterberg, but here, just a few hundred metres away, the calcareous marl becomes heavier in clay, producing richer, spicier and more powerful wines.
